Heads of governmental Human Rights Organizations in member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) began their 3rd meeting here today. The meeting dealt with discussions on proposals submitted by the General Secretariat (Office of Human Rights) on means of promoting coordination between governmental agencies concerned with human rights in the GCC States at regional and international forums, and promoting exchange of visits between the delegations of these bodies. They also reviewed the GCC draft Charter of the Human Rights. It is also slated to review the issue of participation of the General Secretariat (Office of Human Rights) in the events, seminars and conferences that are held in the GCC countries as well as at the regional and international Forums concerned with the human rights. Other key issues to be taken up by the officials are the subject of training and qualifying the national cadres in the field of human rights, in addition to the GCC website pertaining to the Office of Human Rights.
