The GCC chiefs of staff held here on Wednesday the 10th meeting of the GCC Higher Military Committee . In his opening address, Chief of General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces General Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Gabeel said the meeting aims to achieve further cooperation among the Cooperation council for the arab states of the gulf (GCC) member states in light of the accomplishments ahieved so far among the GCC member states , the matter which relfects quest of the GCC leaderships to prevail security and stability across the gulf region and thus flourish prosperity , welfare and stability there. The meeting held under Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia General Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Gabeel , focussed on bolstering military cooperation between the GCC states. The conferees also assessed the current level of cooperation and coordination in all aspects among the militaries of the GCC states, including joint exercises and training, participation in peacekeeping forces and humanitarian missions. Maj. Gen. Sheikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Chief of Staff of the Defence Force in Bahrain invited his GCC counterparts to convene the 11th session of the said Committee in Bahrain next year, while Kuwaiti Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Khalid Al Jarrah Al Sabah , invited the Chiefs of Staff GCC to attend the exercise / Peninsula Shield/ which will be held in Kuwait. For his part, Kuwaiti Army Chief of Staff Sheikh Khalid addressed the opening ceremony and emphasized the importance of the meeting in upgrading military relations between the GCC states as well as exchanging expertise. He invited his GCC counterparts to attend the Peninsula Shield Forces exercise which will be held in Kuwait next February.
