GCC states Attorneys General and Heads of Public Prosecution departments held here today their sixth meeting at the GCC Secretariat General, in the presence of the GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. Qatar’s delegation to the meeting was chaired by HE the Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri. The meeting discussed a number of topics including ways to promote joint cooperation between Member States in the field of Public Prosecutions, and the investigative and prosecution bodies . Addressing the opening session of the meeting, HE the Attorney General Dr. Al Marri stressed the need that the Public Prosecution departments in GCC states to be an independent judiciary from other authorities, and shall have an independent financial budgets until they obtain full independence from the executive body.
