The seventh forum of UAE ambassadors posted abroad got under way under the patronage of Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan here on Monday. In his opening address to more than 140 envoys of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, appreciated the efforts made by UAE ambassadors abroad in serving national economic and political interests. Apart from the latest regional and international developments, heads of diplomatic missions and ambassadors abroad will discuss a broad range of themes on politics, economy and renewable energy. Energy Minister Mohammed Dha’en Al Hamili spoke about the world oil market from a UAE perspective, while Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimi, Minister of State and Managing Director of the Higher Committee for Hosting the World Expo 2020, addressed a session on the Foreign Ministry’s support for the UAE’s bid to host the expo. The ministry convenes the gathering with the aim of enhancing interaction and communication with ambassadors to discuss issues relevant to the UAE foreign policy.
