The Foreign Ministry said Cairo Criminal Court's verdict on sentencing 6 defendants to seven years in prison over the killing of French citizen Eric Lang reflected trust in the Egyptian judiciary's independence.
Commenting on what has been circulated by Western media outlets in the past period on not issuing a verdict in Lang's killing in police custody in Cairo following the June 30, 2013 revolution, the ministry stressed the necessity of giving enough time to the Egyptian judiciary to pass its verdict in the case.
The ministry reiterated its complete trust in the Egyptian judiciary's integrity and independence.
