One person was killed and 10 were injured over the weekend as a result of a fire caused by a gas leak at a sweets factory in Alley, Mount Lebanon, security sources said, citing preliminary information. The victim of the Saturday incident was identified as Seifeddine Sayyed al-Safi – a Sudanese national. Ten Lebanese workers were also injured as a result of the fire at the the factory located on the first floor of a two-storey building. A preliminary probe indicates that the fire was the result of a faulty gas canister that exploded at the factory. Civil Defense teams managed to extinguish the fire that was limited to the first floor. Authorities are investigating the incident. The Daily Star
