The Federal National Council, FNC, today celebrated Flag Day by hoisting the flag in the court of the FNC and its General Secretariat building in Dubai, in the presence of Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of FNC, other members of the FNC, directors of departments and employees of the Secretariat.
In her statement on the occasion, Dr. Al Qubaisi stressed that the Flag Day represented an Emirati journey of glory, written by its dedicated sons, who embodied the values of loyalty and belongingness to this land, to make the UAE a beacon among nations and in the world. The UAE is a model of growth, civilisation and development, which was established by an in-depth wise vision and sustainable plans, she added.
The FNC Speaker noted that the Flag Day represented the values of unity, solidarity and building of the nation through the determination of its founding leaders, whose vision surpassed the present to touch the horizons of future.
"We renew our pledge and loyalty to our wise leadership and the people of the UAE, to spend everything precious and valuable for the welfare of the nation and to defend it with our lives, for its flag to remain proud and flying high, and for our country to continue leading with confident steps, and its exceptional accomplishments in all sectors and levels of development," she added.
"When we celebrate, today, this national occasion, which is precious to all our hearts, we stand to honour, appreciate and respect the sacrifices of our martyrs, the heroes of our brave armed forces, who gave their precious lives to preserve the stature of our flag flying high, and their sacrifice and heroism that has strengthened our force and empowered our determination and persistence, to stand up for what is right and side by the side with our brethren, to offer them all the necessary humanitarian and relief assistance," she said in conclusion.
