The General Governor of the province of Esfahan, Ali Reza Zakar Esfahani, called on Kuwaitis to visit the city and surrounding region to get acquainted with the tourist attractions and rich heritage. Esfahani, addressing a delegation of Kuwaiti journalists who have recently visited Iran and this ancient city, 340 km south of the capital, dubbed by natives as \"half of the world\" for its attractive nature, abundant orchards, groves and trees lining up sides of roads and streets. Kuwaiti citizens who desire to visit the city, of a three-million populace, will be granted entry visa at the airport, he said. He praised presence of the Kuwaiti delegation in the country, affirming that such interaction would boost the general relations and cultural ties between the Iranian and Kuwaiti peoples. Esfahani shed some light on a 2003 law for encouraging foreign investments, noting that foreign entrepreneurs could transfer their capitals and profits in hard currency abroad. Moreover, the government is compelled to compensate for losses resulting from bureaucratic complications. For his part, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Iran, Majdi Al-Thafiri, said the visit of the Kuwaiti delegation depicted high interest at the official and public levels to enhance the ties. Esfahan, located in central Iran, is famous for therapeutic spas and ancient bazars displaying a variety of products and handicraft items.
