The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has received a donation from Etihad Airways to aid the underprivileged under its sponsorship at the local level.
The gesture is part of the #Year_of_Giving initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is part of the ERC's humanitarian efforts to provide assistance for its enlisted segments.
Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Deputy Secretary-General of Local Affairs at the ERC, said that the organisation is working with all government bodies and private sector institutions in the country to implement humanitarian initiatives that support the giving initiative.
Al Mansouri thanked Etihad Airways, ERC’s partner, for the donation and said that it always participates in charitable activities for the benefit of the disadvantaged.
Ghudayer Al Dhaheri, Vice President of Corporate Security at Etihad Airways, said that participation in the ERC's humanitarian project is in accordance with the social responsibility of the company. It focusses on carrying out the concept of giving through charitable events.
He added that the donation provided by Etihad Airways is seen in the framework of the UAE vision gleaned from its Arab and Islamic identity and the principles and vision of the Founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
