The Emirates Red Crescent started Wednesday distribution of Eid sacrificial meat and clothes and food baskets in Yemen among bereft families of the martyrs and wounded in areas of Al Wadi and Sarwah affiliated to the Governorate of Marib in line with' Zayed's Legacy to Support Yemeni People' campaign, which coincides with Eid al-Adha, to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people.
The campaign comes in line with the keenness of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support the Yemeni people and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to stand by the bereaved families in appreciation of the sacrifices they have offered for the homeland.
The initiative, to continue until the third day of Eid al-Adha, will provide the families with various kinds of support, including Eid clothing, gifts for children, food baskets, and cash, along with vouchers to purchase necessities.
The ERC team based here reiterated that the sacrifices made by the Yemeni people to protect the independence of their homeland, its sovereignty and legitimate government are invaluable and they deserve all the efforts made to assuage their suffering under the untold circumstances they are going through.
The aid beneficiaries have expressed full appreciation of the UAE leadership and people for their continued supportive stances toward Yemen, including the rehabilitation projects implemented by the UAE government to help Yemenis meet their basic needs.
