The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has distributed 11,200 food parcels to people living in the province of Taiz, as part of the organisation's efforts to meet the humanitarian needs of Yemeni brothers.
The ERC continues to provide the relief aid as part of its commitment to helping the Yemeni people and achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership to alleviate their suffering.
Beneficiaries in Taiz expressed their thanks and appreciation to the UAE for its efforts and the ERC for its support, noting that food baskets were distributed at an appropriate time amid the suffering of the population and their dire need for food.
They also said that the UAE's support of Yemen and its people dates back to the days of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and continues through its noble humanitarian stances under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The United Nations has, on many occasions, praised the humanitarian efforts made by the UAE in Yemen, and for its relief initiatives which continue to make concerted efforts to decrease the suffering of the Yemeni people and improve the lives of those affected by the crisis in a number of provinces.
