The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, on Sunday distributed Eid Al Adha gift vouchers to the families of martyrs and to injured Yemenis in the Lahj Governorate, as part of the 'Zayed Legacy to Support the Yemeni People' campaign that seeks to assist these vulnerable groups.
The ERC distributed the coupons in the presence of Dr. Nasser Al Khabji, Governor of Lahj.
The charitable drive was launched on 20th August within the framework of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's keenness to support and help the brotherly people of Yemen.
Dr. Al Khabji thanked the UAE for extending humanitarian and charitable assistance to the Yemeni people, and said the campaign has brought smiles to the faces of children from distressed families.
The ERC authorities noted that the campaign will provide for the needs of the families of martyrs and those injured. Eid clothing and children’s gifts, as well as cash and gift vouchers, will be distributed, allowing individuals to purchase items from various stores in preparation for Eid festivities.
The ‘Zayed's Legacy to Support Yemeni People' campaign will continue until the third day of Eid Al Adha, coinciding with another campaign, titled ‘Their Happiness is our Eid,’ which will be executed in 67 countries around the world and benefit more than 215,000 people.
