Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, Abdulla bin Abdul-Malik AL-Sheikh, has asserted that the security of Bahrain is an integral part of that of Saudi Arabia, in particular, and that of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in general.
In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the ambassador said that his country stands with Bahrain and backs all measures it takes to maintain its security and stability, as well as the safety of its citizens.
Al-Sheikh added that the measures taken by the security authorities recently to maintain public order, reinforce the law, remove violations and restore the situation back to normal are legitimate, and are within the jurisdiction of the Interior Ministry in order to protect domestic security and ensure the interests of the citizens.
The ambassador affirmed that the two sisterly kingdoms are indivisible, and reiterated his country’s full-fledged support to Bahrain and to the measures it has taken recently, wishing the kingdom further progress, security and prosperity.
Saudi Arabia rejects the existence of “pockets” that support the foreign-backed chaos and terrorism in Bahrain, and welcomes the restoration of the rule of law in Duraz, he said.
The Saudi envoy called for the need to step up international concerted efforts to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from its grass roots as it poses a serious threat to global security and stability.
He wished the Kingdom lasting security and stability, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
