Emirates Transport, ET, has supported over national 113 entities through its National Bus community project, by providing 328 free transportation services during the first half of year, as part of its community responsibility, which goes in line with the Year of Giving initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Abdullah Mohammed, Director of the Government Communication Department at ET, said that the National Bus project is one of ET’s leading community initiatives and is part of its plan to launch charity and community programmes and initiatives since 2008.

He added that the project aims to employ and utilise the capabilities and expertise of ET, with its 35 years of service in the transportation sector, to support the various activities and initiatives of its strategic partners, and based on its desire to fulfil its community responsibility and national duty, in line with the national directives to establish the culture of giving, volunteering and humanitarian work.

He explained that ET, during the first half of 2017, has provided support for over 113 national entities, by deploying 100 safe and comfortable buses and their drivers, to provide its free group transportation services for national, cultural, sporting and community events organised by these entities.

Mohammed also stated that ET desires to support community responsibility programmes while stressing that this desire is based on its strong belief in its important role, as a constant and effective partner in the development and sustainability of all sectors of the community. He added that community responsibility programmes are a noble and integral part of ET’s strategies and plans.

Emirates Transport has received numerous awards in the field of social responsibility including the Dubai Chamber CSR Label Award for 2016. It also won First Place in the Partnerships and Collaborations category, and the First Runners-up Award in the Public Sector Organisations Category in the 9th Cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards.
