Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, continues its humanitarian initiatives to assist people with disabilities in Yemen.
The move is part of its commitment to support all classes and segments of the Yemeni society who need assistance to mitigate their suffering caused by the war unleashed by the Saleh group and Al Houthi militia.
The ERC team in Yemen visited on Friday the Hope Centre for Autistic Children in Sayun town to provide humanitarian aid, which included medicines, blankets, clothes and food items, in a bid to help people facing difficult economic situation.
"This humanitarian campaign comes as part of a series of humanitarian aid provided to the people of Hadramaut, especially people with special needs. This reflects the keenness of the UAE leadership to help such people in Hadramaut," said Abdullah Al Musafari, ERC Representative in Hadramaut.
Eng. Abdullah Al Gafli, Head of the Autism Rehabilitation Society in Wadi Hadramaut, expressed his satisfaction over the humanitarian aid that painted a smile on the faces of children, their families and their teachers. He thanked the ERC for extending its assistance to the Yemeni society.
Al Gafli also thanked the UAE leadership, government and people for their continued support to the people of Yemen.
The beneficiaries appreciated this humanitarian gesture, citing the continuous ERC aid efforts to alleviate the suffering of people in Yemen.
On this occasion, the Autism Rehabilitation Centre in Wadi Hadramaut and Sahara presented a shield to the ERC in recognition to its humanitarian aid efforts to the autistic children.
