Egypt has evacuated 1,358 of its nationals from Syria since the beginning of evacuation operations July 19 . The Egyptian embassy in Syria was able to evacuate 915 citizens through the Damascus International Airport and 443 others through the airport in Aleppo, Foreign Ministry spokesman Amr Rushdi said, adding that the embassy paid for the travel of 273 of the citizens because of their suffering financial situation following the destruction of their property as a result of the ongoing military operations in Syria. The number included 168 citizens who had been detained by Syrian authorities whom the Egyptian embassy succeeded in securing their release and return to the country.
