Commuters affected by the closure of Naif Road on Saturday, July 8, can take the circular bus route service provided by the Roads and Transport Authority.
The Circular Bus Route will start from the Union Metro Station, pass through Naif Park, Naif Junction 1, Burj Nahar Junction 1, and Al Nakhal bus stop before heading back to the Union Metro Station.
"Bus commuters can use temporary alternative routes from the Union MS to travel to their various destinations. The temporary alternative circular route service would run at 15 minutes intervals throughout the day. All affected routes and stops would not be served during the closure of Naif Road for maintenance," said Mohammed Abu Bakr Al-Hashemi, director of planning and business development at RTA's Public Transport Agency.
Naif Road will be closed on Saturday, July 8, for one month due to preventive maintenance works. The first phase will be a full closure of Naif Road in the direction from Omar bin Al Khattab Street towards Al Musalla Street, beginning July 8 until July 22. While the second phase will be a full closure of Naif from July 23 until August 5 from Al Musalla Street towards Omar bin Al Khattab Street
"All bus routes serving bus stops of Naif Junction 2 and Burj Nahar Junction 2 would be suspended. Therefore, a temporary alternative circular bus service is required until the completion of maintenance works of Naif Road," Al-Hashemi noted.
