The Environment Department of Dubai Municipality has participated in the Back to School initiative launched by the Ministry of Education as an attempt to start the school year differently from the traditional school reopening.
A delegation from the Environmental Awareness Section of Dubai Municipality visited Al Sa'ada Elementary School for Girls, Al Ahmadiyah Model School for Boys and the 2nd of December Elementary School. The delegation participated in activities to welcome the students, coinciding with the start of the new academic year.
The activities focused on the different elements of the environment, such as air, soil, water, natural reserves and beaches. Students were also given gifts, which included a number of environmentally friendly school supplies.
Alia Al Harmoudi, Director of Environment Department, said, "Dubai Municipality is keen to participate in creative community initiatives and activities. Our participation in the joyous occasion of the "Back to School" initiative, which is participated in by students and parents, is aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the environment."
Tasnim Al Falasi, Head of Environmental Awareness Section, who thanked Dubai Education Zone for inviting them to participate in the Back to School activities, said that Dubai Municipality is keen to involve community members in various events, as part of its agenda to interact with members of the community in their various activities and events.
