An evacuation drill targetting Emiratis and members of UAE diplomatic missions in countries prone to natural disasters, was conducted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation premises Tuesday.
The drill, conducted in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and in collaboration with the National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority, NCEMA, aimed at enhancing national response capabilities for disasters occurring outside the UAE.
A large number of officials from the ministry and NCEMA took part in the exercise to test emergency preparedness levels and to identify areas of improvement, in conjunction with NCEMA guidelines.
"This exercise highlights the close cooperation and continuous coordination between MoFAIC and NCEMA, to realise our common strategic goal," said Saif Mohammed Arhama Al Shamsi, NCEMA Deputy Director General.
