Police in Oman have issued a warning against sharing photos and personal details online.
"Be cautious of exchanging personal information and pictures through social media sites and networks," the Royal Oman Police tweeted.
Last week, an Omani woman was arrested for stabbing a 23-year-old Omani man to death over an alleged blackmail case.
She said the man had been threatening to reveal intimate photographs of her to her friends.
An official from the Royal Oman Police said:
"This man was exploiting her and was trying to threaten her with the use of material, pictures, through her friends.
"The woman was growing tired of his threats and decided to end it and stabbed him. We don't know the place, who helped her or whether others were involved," the official said.
The woman had called the Royal Oman Police after stabbing the man to report the crime.
