The fourth meeting of the Doha Declaration Implementation Committee took place today at UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna.
The Qatari side was chaired by Advisor of Minister of Interior Dr Abdullah Youssef Al Mal, with Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi. Director of the Division for Treaty Affairs John Brandolino chaired the UNODC delegation for the meeting.
The two sides discussed the progress made in the finance agreement they signed, as well as the projects that could be concluded by the end of 2017. the agreement, signed in November 2015, is intended to help countries achieve a positive and sustainable impact on criminal justice and the rule of law in all regions of the world. This funding will be used to continue to advance the Doha Declaration and to ensure that UNODC builds projects and programs that support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. These projects will help people and communities in almost 80 countries especially the developing countries and least developed countries.
