Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has organised the Al Khair, or Giving, Exhibition, 2017 at Mirdif City Centre in Dubai, to highlight how prominent social organisations are serving society.
This is part of DEWA’s Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, and its efforts to achieve the goals of the #Year of Giving and instil a culture of giving in society. Social and humanitarian organisations that took part in the exhibition include the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture, the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding, the Community Development Authority, the Dubai Club for People of Determination, the Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities, and the Dar Al Ber Society. Organisations showed their social and humanitarian services and products. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, commended the organisations that took part in the exhibition, noting that the Year of Giving is an optimal platform for public and private organisations to support the UAE’s national structure, in accordance with the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership.
Al Tayer also commended the management of Mirdif City Centre for their efforts to support the exhibition by allocating the required space in the mall, and cooperating with DEWA and participating organisations, which contributed to the success of the exhibition.
"DEWA organised the Al Khair exhibition as part of its efforts to support the Year of Giving initiative, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and to carry out the directives of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to implement initiatives for the benefit of UAE society in the future, and work to establish a permanent change in the way the next generation serves the UAE positively.
