H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Executive Council of Sharjah, has chaired the Executive Council's board meeting.
Following the ratification of the minutes of the previous session, the meeting covered a number of agenda topics pertaining to the Emirate of Sharjah's projects and pursuits that contribute to the continuous growth of the emirate.
Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler's Office, said the Council discussed the strategic plan devised by a higher committee, for the Emirate of Sharjah to obtain membership in the World Cities Network for the year 2017.
The Council affirmed that the Emirate of Sharjah has all the elements that qualify it to achieve membership as a resilient city, with its efforts focused on a number of areas including health and social services to better serve its residents. The Executive Council board adopted the plan and called on all governmental bodies and institutions to cooperate with the committee.
The Sharjah Executive Council also issued Resolution No. 15 of 2017 on the exemption of members of the Federal National Council, FNC, from traffic violations within the Emirate of Sharjah.
The resolution stipulates that the members of the FNC shall be exempted from traffic violations within the administrative boundaries of the emirate, ensuring that the FNC membership is currently active, and that only one vehicle may be registered for exemption in coordination with the Sharjah Police General Directorate and the Federal National Council General Secretariat.
The resolution will be published in the Official Gazette and is effective from the date of publication.
