A military court Tuesday heard testimony from a prosecution witness in an open session in the trial of an officer who killed three US soldiers in a shootout at an airbase in Jafer in 2016.
The court hearings held in a session presided by military judge, Col. Mohammad Afif, and attended by two military judges as members, adjourned until Wednesday when the last witness of prosecution will testify.
Families of the US servicemen, who attended the hearings, said they appreciated the speed of the court proceedings, which meet fair trial standards.
The defendant is facing premeditated murder charges in violation of article 327 of the penal code.
The American soldiers were killed in a shooting at the gate of the King Faisal Airbase in Jafer, 220km south of Amman, in November 2016 as they were in their vehicle.
