His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, today deputised the Defence Affairs Minister, Lieutenant-General Yussef bin Ahmed Al-Jalahma, to attend the graduation ceremony of the 9th Joint Command and Staff Session, held under his patronage at the Royal Command and Staff College (RCSC).
After some holy Quran verses were recited, the Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Lieutenant-General Dhiyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, delivered a speech in which he conveyed to those present greetings from HM King Hamad, the Supreme Commander, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, as well as from the BDF Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
He also welcomed servicemen from brotherly countries’ armed forces who participated in the 9th session.
He congratulated the graduates and wished them further success.
The chief of staff described RCSC as a vital tributary to developing the plans and programmes of the kingdom’s armed forces, noting that RCSC, like its counterparts in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has succeeded in meeting international standards regarding the preparation of highly-qualified national competencies who are specialised in military sciences.
He added that RCSC is a national monument that relies basically on national competencies who are armed with science, knowledge, patriotism, loyalty to the leadership and adherence to the Islamic principles, common GCC values and authentic Arab traditions.
He called for the need to be well prepared to counter challenges, threats, sedition and sabotage plots staged by sectarian powers.
He stressed the need to adopt firm brotherly stances to face threats, and keep away from stances that undermine shared history, spark conflicts that generate terrorism, subvert security and stability and affect the efficiency of efforts to counter threats to Arab national security.
He called for unifying efforts to ensure the continuity of the patriotic tasks carried out by the GCC countries’ armed forces, and to strengthen military solidarity to support the Saudi-led “Operation Decisive Storm” and “Operation Restoring Hope” to support legitimacy in Yemen, safeguard global security and peace and consolidate the GCC’s key role in championing just Arab and Islamic causes.
The chief of staff thanked RCSC’s Commandant and teaching staff for their dedication, wished the participants in the Saudi-led operations in Yemen victory, and the graduates every success in serving their countries.
The RCSC Commandant, Rear Admiral Abdulla Said Al-Mansoori then delivered a statement in which he extended sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude the defence minister for attending the graduation ceremony.
He described RCSC as a scientific monument based on distinction, noting that thanks to the directives of HM the King, HRH the Crown Prince, the BDF Commander-in-Chief, the Defence Affairs Minister and the Chief of Staff, RCSO has reached an advanced level that matches that of its regional and international counterparts.
He said that RCSC and its affiliates will remain loyal to HM the King, the Supreme Commander, and will make every sacrifice to defence the homeland.
After that statements on behalf of the graduates from Bahrain and those from brotherly countries were delivered.
They praised RCSC for its role in enhancing their military and academic knowledge, as well as in honing their personal military skills and ability to take the right decisions and deal with the requirements of modern joint combats.
Then, a poem in praise of HM the King, HRH Crown Prince, the commander-in-chief and the BDF’s achievements was read.
After that, the Defence Affairs Minister presented the top-achieving graduates with appreciation certificates, and wished all the graduates further success.
Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, Deputy Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Adel bin Khalifa Al-Fadhel, CBB Governor Rasheed Mohammed Al-Miraj, Capital Governor, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources, Major-General Shaikh Ali bin Rashid Al Khalifa, ambassadors and military attachés of the participating officers and senior BDF officers also attended.
