Coast Guard Commander Brigadier Ala’a Siyadi has announced that, in line with the Coast Guard’s commitment to performing all assigned duties across the Kingdom’s sea waters, the Coast Guard continues to implement the necessary legal procedures and maritime surveillance to regulate fishing practices and protect the marine environment, which includes pearl diving.
Pearl diving activities are allowed in Bahrain, including in Hayr Bulthama, Hayr Shtayyah, Hayr Bu Amamah and the surrounding areas once the necessary licence has been obtained from the Fisheries Directorate of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning; the licence determines any required regulations to be adhered to. Any such activities are prohibited in Najwat Bulthama.
The Coast Guard Commander called upon seafarers to adhere to the laws and regulations to protect the general interests of the community
