A number of people were injured in clashes between Shiite clans in more than one neighbourhood in the southern suburbs of Lebanon, leading to the intervention of the army. The clashes started in the aftermath of an explosion, which targeted an official Shiite affiliated to Amal movement in the neighbourhood of Silm. The official was subjected to investigation before being released while another Syrian was arrested earlier on charges of masterminding the explosion. A security source told Arabstoday that a dispute erupted between the family of Al-Hajj Hassan and the family of Mustafa in the area of Mreijeh in the southern suburbs of Beirut. The dispute started after one person of the Hajj Hassan family shot fire at a cafe owned by the Mustafa family. Security forces intervened and worked to resolve the dispute, and no injuries were reported. On the other side, a clash between members of Hjoula and Zuaiter tribes erupted in Allilki area, exchanging fire. However after the arrival of security forces, the people involved fled from the scene.
