The cabinet, on Sunday, was briefed on efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II to stop the escalation in Jerusalem and the overall situation in the Al-Haram Al-Sharif.
In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Hani al-Mulki, Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, said efforts are being exerted to prevent further deterioration of the crisis by Israel’s removal of all unilateral measures to change the status quo in Jerusalem in clear violation of its international and legal obligations as the occupying power.
Safadi briefed the cabinet on Jordan’s moves, including contacts with several Arab and foreign ministers, to discuss the situation in Jerusalem and to guarantee freedom of worship.
