British Ambassador heads high profile welcoming delegation as they continue their week of events to support the Royal British Legion. The Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) Committee and HM Ambassador to Bahrain Ian Lindsay welcomed Chelsea Pensioners John Robert McNaughton (83), William Keenan Gorrie (72) and James Andrew Hawtree (67) to Bahrain at an official event at the Regency InterContinential Hotel in Manama. The three Pensioners are embarking on a round of visits and events in Bahrain - the focal point of which was the Wreath laying Ceremony on Friday November 11th at the Old Christian Cemetery in Manama commemorating the sacrifice made by service men and women over the years. As per tradition, the event was held on November 11th to coincide with Remembrance Day and featured the Chelsea Pensioners as guests of honor. The events are organized by the BBBF in cooperation with the Royal British Legion, a UK charity that provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. This year, Bahrain’s annual treat to the Chelsea Pensioners includes business class travel provided by Gulf Air, luxury ground transport in a Land Rover LR4 from Euro Motors; 5-star hotel accommodation from the Regency InterContinential; a visit to the Bahrain International Circuit and an array of other activities and gifts from organizations such as The Bookcase, the Dilmun Club, the British Club, Sofitel, Gulf Brands International and the Capital Club. The trip continues until November 16th and includes other events such as school visits, dinners and official engagements.
