Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi stressed that the leaked telephone call between former Qatari Premier and Foreign Minister Hamad bin Jassim and Secretary General of dissolved Al Wefaq Society Ali Salman is a grave escalation in Qatar’s conspiracy on the security and stability of Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf.
The voice record, he noted, is an additional evidence on Qatar’s interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs, support to extremist groups and targeting of the Peninsula Shield forces.
The Information Minister pointed out that Bahrain is one of the GCC countries most harmed by the Qatari hostile political, security and media practices which have gone on for years and reached their peak in 2011. This, he claimed, was documented in a report by the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) which showed implication in a dubious foreign plot in Bahrain.
The Information Minister affirmed that Bahrain will not allow any interference in its domestic affairs out of awareness of the great danger it poses to its national security. He added that the kingdom had shown a lot of patience taking into consideration the historic fraternal ties with the Qatari people and all the GCC nationals. He also pointed out Bahrain’s keenness on GCC unity and hope to rectify those politicise, adding that it has become unacceptable to show any more tolerance of such interference.
The Information Minister asserted that Bahrain has the full right to take the necessary procedures to protect its people and hold accountable those conspiring on its sovereignty and stability. He stressed that the leaked voice record of the former Qatari Prime Minister is one of the chapters of the crisis and one of the evidences Bahrain has to lay bare the Qatari interference as well as its support and funding of the extremist and terrorist groups.
