His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa today held talks with the Amir of Kuwait His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on deep-rooted historical relations and means of boosting cooperation in all fields. The meeting was attended by Crown Prince His Highness Shaikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The two leaders affirmed joint resolve to bolster cooperation, stressing the need to maintain regional security and stability. HRH the Premier conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to HH Shaikh Sabah, paying tribute to the State of Kuwait for supporting development projects in Bahrain. He cited in this regard the contribution of Kuwait to the GCC Marshall Plan towards spearheading development schemes in Bahrain. He hailed the initiative which, he said, reflects strong kinship bonding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, saying that Bahrain looks forward to boosting cooperation. HRH the Premier congratulated the Kuwaiti leader, on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, wishing him health and happiness and the Kuwaiti people, the Arab and Islamic nations further progress and prosperity. The two leaders stressed the need to bolster the Gulf and pan-Arab cooperation in order to better serve the strategic interests of the GCC and the Arab World, calling for political solutions to settle crises and steer the whole region away from tensions. HRH the Premier and HH the Amir of Kuwait discussed the pitfalls of regional and international developments, urging more cooperation to enable the GCC to better deal with mounting regional and international developments. HRH the Amir of Kuwait hosted an iftar banquet in honour of HRH the Premier and the accompanying delegation – in the presence of Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Prime Minister and senior officials.
