The House of Representatives’ Committee on Legislative and Legal Affairs approved the Anti-commercial fraud Act (prepared in the light of motion submitted from the Shura Council) after finalization of the studying of all of its clauses and the introduction of the necessary modifications and remarks, in order to be submitted to the Council for approval thereof. Committee chairman Ahmed al-Mulla (MP) stated that the committee finalized the approval of the Anti-commercial law which will solve many problems facing consumers daily. The law comprising 15 articles s hall solve most daily problems discussed by the various media channels. The law comprises penalties and actions taken versus violators and directly touches daily life of citizens and consumers. He added that the committee approved the constitutionality of the matters referred to the committee: bill of law for approval of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s joining into the International Agreement for Simplification of Customs Procedures (the modified Kyoto agreement) accompanying the Decree No. 36 for the year 2011 as well as the bill of law regarding creation of a Free Trade Zone between GCC countries and Eurozone Free Trade Association (EFTA) accompanying the Royal Decree No. 37 for the year 2011. The committee also approved the constitutionality of the bill of law for ratification of the agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the government of Turkmenistan regarding avoidance of double taxation for income tax and capital funds accompanying the Decree No. 31 for the year 2011; as well as the bill of law for approval of joining the temporary admission agreement accompanying the Decree No. 45 for the year 2011. The committee also approved the bill of law for ratification of the agreement for avoidance of double taxation and financial evasion for income tax and capital funds profits between the Kingdom of Bahrain’s government and the government of the Isle of Mann accompanying the Royal Decree No. 44 for the year 2011. The committee also approved the constitutionality of bill of law regarding ratification of the agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain’s government and the government of Turkmenistan regarding encouragement and protection of investments accompanying the Royal Decree No. 43 for the year 2011 as well as the bill of law regarding amending article No. 42 of Act No. 19 for the year 2006 regarding Labor Market Regulation. The committee also approved the law regarding amending article No. 17 of Act No. 57 for the year 2006 and the motion by law regarding modification of some provision of the Decree by Law No. 15 for the year 1976 for issuance of the penal code and the Shura council’s resolution regarding the bill o f law for amending article No. 1 of the Decree by Law No. 17 for the year 1979 regarding “juveniles” (prepared in the light of the motion by law submitted from the House of Representatives.
