Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Khalifa has called for the respect of the concept of state sovereignty, not interfering with internal affairs, as well as the consistent adherence to international human rights principles, peaceful living, and respecting others. According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), during a high level meeting which is held alongside the UN General Assembly 67th session, Sheikh Khalid rejected the application of double standards, stressing the importance of preventing hate and discrimination. He voiced Bahrain s hope to see the UN General assembly establishing new procedures for enforcing international law. The Kingdom of Bahrain has joined number of international agreements relating to human rights and the rule of law, he added. The Minister also referred to the importance of UN member countries' respect for international law in order to protect nations from crimes against humanity and aspirations for political participation which should be tied to the history of each country in order to enhance stability in the world.
