Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has voiced his country support for Ahmed Abul-Gheit, Egypt's candidate for the post of Secretary General of the Arab League, BNA news agency reported.
This support was conveyed in an official letter sent by Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Bahraini top diplomat said.
The letter affirmed Bahrain’s full support for the candidate and readiness to cooperate with the new Secretary-General of the Arab League to succeed his mission in promoting pan- Arab action, he added.
The minister appreciated great efforts exerted by outgoing AL chief Nabil Elaraby, throughout his tenure to promote peace and security, underpin regional stability and develop Arab the League performance.
