Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs represented by the Grand Mosque launched the schedule of activities and programs to be held while observing the last ten nights of the holy month of Ramadan at the mosque. Deputy Undersecretary of the ministry Dr. Mutlaq Al-Qarawi said in a press conference Monday evening, that the preparation of the mosques and setting the right ambiance of spirituality for the last ten nights of Ramadan is an important task for the ministry. Al-Qarawi praised the role played by the Grand Mosque department in early preparations for the holy month. On his part, the director of the Grand Mosque department Saad Al-Hajji announced the readiness of the mosque on administrative, technical, as well as cultural level. The department, he added, selected the best Quran reciters to lead the prayers for the last ten nights of the holy month. Mishari Al-Afasi, Fahad Al-Kandari, Khaled Al-Juhaim, Majed Al-Enizi, and Qutaiba Al-Zwaid are the chosen readers this year, Al-Hajji announced. In collaboration with the ministry, Al-Hajji said that the Grand Mosque department prepared an awareness campaign for this season, out of strong belief in the important role of media in spreading the right atmosphere as well as improving level of awareness. The printed press, as well as audio and visual and multimedia mediums are all important and to be used to send out daily coverage of the activities held as well as the Taraweeh and Qiam prayer. There would be live coverage via the internet as well, he said.
