Egyptian Tourism Minister Yahia Rashed underlined on Thursday the importance of achieving integration among Arab countries in the tourism domain in order to upgrade the countries' economies.
Rashed gave the remarks during his participation in the 19th session of the Arab ministerial council attended by ministers from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Tunisia, Yemen, Sudan, Comoros, the UAE, Oman, Qatar in addition to representatives from Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritania, Algeria, Palestine, Iraq and Somalia.
The meeting discussed issues related to buttressing inter-Arab action in the tourism domain, tourism quality standards and encouraging environmental tourism.
The session began on Tuesday and is to wind up today.
