An emergency meeting to discuss the worsening humanitarian situation in the Arab region, including the suffering of Syrian refugees and Iraqis displaced from Mosul, will be held by the executive committee of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organisation in Tunisia on Monday.
The situation in Yemen and Libya and ways of protecting civilians and humanitarian workers from flagrant violations, under international humanitarian law, are also on the agenda of the pan-Arab body's meeting.
A proposal to create a network of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies of members of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation, OIC, to sustain continuous relief operations and co-ordination, will also be discussed at the meeting.
