The Arab Human Rights Committee (Charter Committee), chaired by Mohammed Feziea, will hold its 13th session to discuss the first periodic report submitted by the State of Qatar to implement the provisions of the Arab Charter on Human Rights. The session will be held on 15 and 16 May at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
A statement issued by the committee today said that Qatar's delegation to the meeting is scheduled to be chaired by HE Director of Human Rights Department at the Foreign Ministry Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hanzab.
The State of Qatar will submit its first periodic report to the committee pursuant to the provisions of the Arab Charter on Human Rights, where Qatar will review the compatibility of its legislation and practices with its provisions and outline the steps taken to implement the committee's recommendations issued in the first report submitted by the State of Qatar in 2013.
The committee will conduct an interactive dialogue on the report with the delegation of the State of Qatar in the presence of several bodies, representatives of the embassies and civil society organizations.
