Noura Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the General Women's Union, GWU, has highlighted the importance of the activities organised by the Arab Diplomatic Group, which aim to raise the awareness of women about their religion and social status.
In a statement after an event organised by the group yesterday, at the headquarters of the GWU, she said the event is a realisation of the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, which aim to support women and educate them with the help of various lecture topics, to raise their level of knowledge and culture.
The event was attended by Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, the wife of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, as well as spouses of several diplomats and members of the Arab Diplomatic Group.
In her speech, Nazeeha bint Zakur, the wife of the Moroccan Ambassador to the UAE, welcomed the event’s chief guest Sheikha Khawla along with the wives of ambassadors, members of the Arab Diplomatic Group, and the audience from Arab communities in the UAE.
She also praised the support provided by the Mother of the UAE, Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, to the spouses of Arab ambassadors in the country.
