The terrorist attack by the Houthi militia on a Saudi frigate that was on patrol west of the port of Hodeida is a despicable act that reveals the sinister designs of the Houthis and their attempts to thwart peace in Yemen at any cost.
In an editorial on Wednesday, The Gulf Today said, "The recent liberation of Al Mokha city and its port from Al Houthi militia and the Saleh group by the Yemeni army and the popular resistance forces, backed by the Arab Coalition, has marked an important turning point in the fight for legitimacy in Yemen. The Houthi and Saleh militias have already been weakened in a number of Yemeni directorates.
"This week, Arab Coalition Forces, with the help of the UAE Air Force in Yemen, destroyed an Iranian military drone in north Mokha port city. The aircraft was at a mobile launching platform, intended to target Yemeni forces participating in the liberation of Mokha city and port."
The English language daily added, "The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has being doing a commendable job by launching various campaigns to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people during times of distress.
"As part of its efforts, the ERC has now launched the first phase of its University Rehabilitation Project in Aden. The ERC supplemented equipment at the Science College in the University of Aden to help Yemeni students overcome difficulties and build their academic future.
"The continuation of the Houthi militias’ use of the port of Hodeida as a launch-pad for terrorist operations is a serious development that will affect international navigation and the flow of humanitarian and medical assistance into the port for Yemeni citizens.
The Sharjah-based daily concluded by saying, "The international community should take note of this, and make the Houthis realise that such terrorist activities will not work."
