The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) participated with the sisterly Sultanate of Oman on the Sultanate\'s 42nd National Day anniversary. The ceremony was patronized by AGU Chancellor, Dr. Khalid bin Abdurrahman Al-Awhali, and attended by the Sultanate of Oman\'s Ambassador in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Suleiman bin Saud Al-Jabri. On this occasion, AGU Chancellor submitted utmost congratulations and felicitations to HM Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed and to the Omani government and people and to the Omani Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Rawyah bint Saud Al-Bu Saeedi on the 42nd national day anniversary, wishing the Sultanate more progress and prosperity and reasserted the AGU\'s gratitude to HM Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed for his support to His Majesty\'s chair for desert farming in the faculty of higher studies. The AGU graduated 152 Omani male and female students and now embraces 35 students in various course programs for this year. Dr. Al-Awhali praised the Sultanate of Oman as one of the most secure countries in the Middle East and Africa which has ranked 4th in the Arab world and the 41st worldwide, according to the World Peace Index/the Australian Economy and Peace Institute\'s report for the year 2011 amongst 153 countries. On the other hand, the Omani Ambassador in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Suleiman bin Saud Al-Jabri, asserted the importance of education and learning as the cornerstone for development of nations and urged students to become examples for persistence, learning and seek knowledge. In conclusion of his speech, Dr. Suleiman bin Saud Al-Jabir expressed gratitude to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Kingdom of Bahrain\'s government and people and to the AGU educational management and staffs for rearing Omani students. AGU student Nawf Al Abdul-Salam spoke on behalf of Omani students in the AGU and student Eman Al-Baloushi recited a poem commemorating this occasion. Towards the end of the ceremony the AGU\'s Chancellor and the Sultanate of Oman\'s Ambassador exchanged memorial shields. The ceremony included traditional Omani cuisine and brochures which introduce the sisterly Sultanate of Oman.
