Cairo Criminal Court decided on Wednesday to defer till April 19 the trial of Mubarak-era interior minister Habib el Adly and 12 other defendants in the interior ministry over corruption charges.
The defendants are accused of seizing two billion pounds from the funds allocated to the Interior Ministry during the era of former president Hosni Mubarak.
The postponement came after the court formed a new technical committee to examine the financial violations committed by the defendants.
Adly served as Mubarak's minister of interior from 1997 until 2011.
In a separate case, Adly was released from detention in March after being acquitted on charges of using his political influence to acquire illicit gains amounting to LE181 million.
He was also acquitted along with six of his aides and former president Hosni Mubarak on charges of complicity in the killing of protesters during the January 2011 uprising.
