The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police has decided to ban heavy vehicles

The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police has decided to ban heavy vehicles, trucks and workers' buses transporting more than 50 passengers, at peak hours on the roads during the holy month of Ramadan.
The move comes within the framework the Command's efforts to provide traffic flow during the holy month and reduce accidents that can result from heavy vehicles and trucks.
Colonel Mohammed Dahi Al Himiri,, Director of the Capital's Traffic Department at the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police General Command, explained that the period of banning trucks and heavy vehicles will be from 08:00 am to 10:00am and from 02:00pm to 04:00 pm.
While workers' buses transporting more than 50 passengers will be banned from 08:00am to 10:00am, he added.
 Colonel Mohammed Dahi called on drivers of the heavy vehicles and trucks to abide by new regulations to make the roads safer during the month of Ramadan. There will be control on heavy vehicles and trucks that do not adhere to the traffic regulations during Ramadan, he said.
He added the department would step up efforts during the holy month of Ramadan to reduce all factors that lead to traffic accidents on the internal roads and highways, as well as places that experience traffic congestion at the markets.
Colonel Mohammed Dahi called on motorists to enhance efforts to provide traffic safety during the month of Ramadan by adhering to the traffic laws, reducing speed, tying the seat belts, not using the phone by hand while driving, leaving enough distance behind vehicles and paying attention to all road surprises.
