The Sharjah Police on Tuesday announced the installation of 30 intelligent radar devices on the internal and external roads of the emirate.
The radars are part of the government's accelerator programme and intend to reduce road accidents and, thereby, fatalities.
Brigadier Saif Mohammad Al Ziri Al Shamsi, commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police, said that the radars have been installed over 30 weeks around the emirate, including Al Dhaid Road, Maliha Street, Emirates Road, Mohammed bin Zayed Road, among others.
These intelligent systems are capable of tracking violations such as exceeding speed limit, heavy loading of vehicles, driving at speeds lower than minimum speed limit, tailgating, etc.
