Twenty one cruise ships have arrived in the port city of Aqaba over the past 5 months carrying 250,000 tourists from various European nationalities.
ASEZA commissioner for economic development and investment affairs Sharhabeel Madi told Petra that the current tourism season is promising, noting that the number of cruise ship expected to arrive in Aqaba by the end of the year will reach 30 and will be carrying around 40,000 tourists.
Madi said that 5 ships with 9,000 on board are also expected to arrive in Aqaba during the holy month of Ramadan.
