Morocco today announced the dismantling of two extremist cells whose members are active in the areas of Al Zagnan, Bani Bogafir, Silwan, Farkhana, Bani Chakir in Nazour province, in northeastern Morocco. The Moroccan Interior Ministry said in a statement to this effect, that the judicial police dismantled the two cells in the light of investigations initiated by the Directorate-General assigned to monitor the national territory, noting that their members embraced ideologies against the community and established relations with the extremist elements who are active in northern Mali and belong to a network of specialized in recruiting and sending volunteers to fight in the Sahel zone. The statement, carried by Moroccan News Agency (MAP) said the two cells include former detainees under the terrorism act, for maintaining relations with extremist circles outside Morocco.
