One thousand young volunteers in the UAE will receive world-class specialised training in humanitarian work through an initiative of the UAE Humanitarian Conference, it was announced on Tuesday.
The initiative is in line with the declaration by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan that 2017 will be the Year of Giving. It will be carried out in partnership between the Zayed Giving Initiative, the Emirates Voluntary Academy, Dar Al Ber Society, Sharjah Charity House and the Saudi German Hospital Group.
The training is part of efforts to attract and qualify the youth for humanitarian services to all people, regardless of colour, race, religion or gender, said Dr Adel Al Shameri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative and Chairman of Emirates Programme for Community and Specialised Volunteering.
