Mariam bint Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister for Social Affairs, has emphasised that the UAE provided unlimited support to Yemen in the light of the current critical conditions in the country.
Al Roumi told Emirates News Agency, WAM, in a statement after her participation in the 66th Ordinary Session of the Arab Social Affairs Ministerial Council's Executive Bureau being held yesterday in Cairo.
She said that the meeting discussed 17 articles on the agenda, some of which are procedural and administrative, financial issues and others pertaining to projects and social programmes in the Arab countries, as well as some strategies for social work. She also noted that it was agreed to hold the next session of the Arab Social Affairs Ministerial Council in Bahrain in December.
The meeting also discussed a number of issues regarding people with special needs, family and children, and Sultanate of Oman's proposal pertaining to the establishment of social studies centre to discuss current issues of the Arab world as well as ways to activate the role of the private sector to contribute to the overall development process.
The meeting also tackled a number of issues on the agenda.
