Presidential adviser Osama el Azhari said on Thursday that the jailed female insolvents in Egypt will be released by the end of 2015 persuant to the "Egypt without indebted women" initiative by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
"Till now, 1,100 cases against indebted women were settled in a bid to reunite Egyptian families," Azhari said in a celebration held at Al Qanater prison.
The total debts of female prisoners in Egypt hit 1 billion pounds, he noted .
During the celebration, 42 indebted women were offered aid boxes from the president.
