The president of Ukraine Olympic Committee, Sergey Bubka expressed Friday in Algiers readiness of his country to contribute to the development and the promotion of the Algerian sport.
"The objective of the agreement signed between the Algerian and Ukrainian Olympic committees in Kiev last September, is the development of sports in Algeria by contributing to improving the results and performance of Algerian athletes," said the former Olympic champion and former world record-holder in pole vaulting during a press conference, held Friday at the headquarters of the Algerian Olympic Committee.
"We discussed today the good governance in sport, and how to better manage sports in Algeria. I have explained to my Algerian counterparts our vision and the policy adopted to develop sport in Ukraine," said Bubka.
He also talked about the practical implementation of the agreement between the Algerian and Ukrainian Olympic committees, particularly as regards the training of senior executives and cooperation in the scientific field, through sharing experience in the fight against doping.
During his visit to Algeria, Sergey Bubka and the delegation accompanying him visited the technical centre of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) in Sidi Moussa as well as the Higher Institute of Sports Science and Technology (ISTS).
